Clarification: Kensington uncertain

Coeur Alaska Inc. may not develop the Kensington mine if it loses its court case.

That's contrary to two recent Empire stories. One story in last Thursday's edition on the Juneau city budget said the mine company said it would develop either way. That story cited a March 3 piece on a new partnership between Coeur and the University of Alaska Southeast.

But Coeur spokesman Tony Ebersole called to correct the Empire.

"We haven't said that we would develop this thing whatever the court outcome," he said. "We don't want to give that impression."
