JUNEAU - Elected officials will hold a citywide town hall meeting next month to gather ideas to improve Juneau's service to the state and complement ongoing work on the Alaska Committee.
The meeting, to be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 25 at Centennial Hall, offers residents an opportunity to make Juneau a better capital city and a better place to live, Mayor Bruce Botelho said.
The forum follows the Alaska Committee's annual meeting, held earlier this year, where attendees expressed interest in getting involved, Botelho said. The committee is made up of volunteers who do strategic planning.
"Both the Assembly and the Alaska Committee recognized that a public forum would encourage people who are unable to attend regular board or Assembly meetings to step forward to share their ideas with each other and their elected representatives," Botelho said.
Attendees will see presentations on recent city projects, then break into groups to discuss and prioritize the projects.
