Northern Lights to present one-act

JUNEAU -Northern Lights Junior Theatre will present "Us & Them," a one-act play about the the manifestations of conflict, this weekend at the Nugget Mall.
Guest instructor Ed Christian, a Perseverance Theatre veteran, has been teaching a course on stage combat. This is the first time the junior company has hired a guest instructor. The play stars actors in third-grade through eighth-grade.
Showtimes are 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 17; and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 18-19.
All shows are in the vacant room across the mall concourse from Hearthside Books.
Advance tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and available at Hearthside Books. At the door, tickets are $10 for adults, $6 at the door. The show is sponsored by Delta Western Inc.
Museum to celebrate four women artists
JUNEAU -In observance of Women's History Month, the Gastineau Channel Historical Society and The Friends of the Alaska State Museum will host a free presentation on four prominent Juneau women artists from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Alaska State Museum.
Rie Muñoz will discuss the art of lifelong friend Jennie Werner. Shelly Harmon will talk about her mother-in-law, Genevieve Harmon, a musician, painter and ceramicist.
Lois Schuba will present the work of her mother, Charlotte Nicholson. Tony Pop will lecture about Joseph Crumrine, a lifelong friend who visited Southeast Alaska many times.
Discovery Southeast to hold auction, dinner
JUNEAU - Discovery Southeast will hold its annual auction dinner and fundraiser from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall.
The dinner will include a salmon and chicken barbecue and a silent auction, with art, adventures, desserts and assorted items. Ron Clarke will emcee the live auction.
