DENALI NATIONAL PARK — A National Park Service crew is scheduled to begin plowing Denali Park Road on Wednesday to get it ready for visitors in the coming tourist season.
The job takes place each year at Denali National Park in Alaska beyond park headquarters at mile three of the road.
Park officials say crews expect to encounter more snow this year after an increase of storms, and high winds that created snow drifts.
Crews also plan to steam open culverts clogged with ice.
Officials say if weather and road conditions allow, the road could be open to the Savage River at mile 15 by early April and to the Teklanika River rest area by mid- to-late April.
