Awards and honors

Jennifer Hodges, a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, was named to the dean's list at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn., for the fall 1999 semester.

Jessica Scott, a 1994 graduate of JDHS, was named to the dean's list at the University of Washington in Seattle for the fall quarter of 1999. She is a pre-med student.

Sadie Sepel was selected as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 1999-2000 by the Wildlife Biology Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Leif E. Leegard, a 1996 graduate of JDHS, has enlisted as an Electronic Warfare Intercept System Maintainer in the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program. He is scheduled to leave for basic training in Fort Jackson, S.C., May 17.

Breanne E. Rohm, a local alpine racer, received a Year 2000 Travel and Training Grant from the Women's Sports Foundation. She will use the funding to attend an intensive summer race camp and prepare for the 2000-2001 racing season.

Joshua Dean, a JDHS graduate now living in Fort Collins, Colo., was nominated for the U.S. Air Force Academy by U.S. Sen Frank Murkowski.
