He was born Jan. 8, 1949, in Hoonah to Bessie Weokluk of Juneau and Frank See Sr. He attended Hoonah High School and was a Vietnam veteran for the Army Special Forces. Over his lifetime, he worked as a police chief in Hoonah; heavy equipment operator; police officer, with honors, in Juneau; police officer in New Mexico; electrical lineman; and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father; son, Harry "Skipper" See; sisters, Mary Ann Ibona and Cathy Jean Bean; and brother, Russell See Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Julia See; children, Tammy McTimpenny, Matthew See, Bonita See and Frank See III; step-children, Lexy Brown, Emma Catterson, Patricia Brown and Carol Sue Brown; mother; step-mother, Hilda See of Hoonah; brothers and sisters, Francine (Ken) Perkins, Lorraine Fredrickson, Candy Madrid, Clifford See, Karen Gause and Patricia (Ben) Tacket; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The pallbearer will be Donald See. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Knudson Jr., George Dalton, Karl Greenwald Jr., Keith Skaflestad, Gary Brown Sr., John Sharclane, Ken Schoonover, O.G. Schoonover, Howie Knudson and Jake White Jr.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall in Hoonah.
