Former Juneau resident Barbara Jean Dodson died March 10, 2008, in Fordyce, Ark. She was 59.
She was born June 19, 1948, in Berkley, Calif., to Harry and Stella Dodson. The family moved to Oregon, where she attended schools in Grants Pass.
Shortly after graduating, she moved to Lafayette, Ind., and worked at Purdue University. In 1984, she came to Juneau, where family said she fell in love with the beauty and people. She was recently a bartender at the Arctic Bar. Her family said the people became very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Steve, William and Clay Dodson.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda Winders, of Juneau; brothers, Ben Dodson, of Fordyce, Ark., and Fred Dodson, of Grants Pass, Ore.; daughters, Deborah Vest, of Merlin, Ore., and Jessica Dodson, of Tacoma, Wash.; two grandchildren; and special friend, Joe Winders, of Juneau.
Services were held March 14 at the Benton County Funeral Home in Fordyce.
