FAIRBANKS - A man and woman from Fairbanks have pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiring to distribute cocaine.
Thirty-four-year-old Lemon Glenn Washington and 20-year-old Tammi Mae Chapman are scheduled to be sentenced on May 23.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Bryan Schroder said Washington conspired with Chapman to transport cocaine from Seattle to Fairbanks on three separate occasions.
Schroder said Chapman and another woman served as couriers carrying approximately a half-kilogram of cocaine on each trip.
The two face up to 40 years in prison and $2 million in fines.
