The Alaska State Library Historical Collections will host a presentation by Fred Schlutt, University of Alaska Fairbanks vice provost for extension and outreach and director of the Cooperative Extension Service.

The talk will focus on the history of Alaska Cooperative Extension, the outreach arm of UAF, which delivers science-based research information to the general public.

The presentation is at noon Tuesday, March 22, at the Historical Collections office on the eighth floor of the State Office building.

The Cooperative Extension has been in Alaska since 1930 and the national Cooperative Extension program will celebrate 100 years in 2014.
