Baby-sitting course offered next week
A three-day baby-sitting course will be offered by the American Red Cross on Tuesday through Thursday. The class is for 11- to 15-year olds and is limited to 12 participants. Call 463-5713 for more information.
Video series explains fetal alcohol disorders
Learn how fetal alcohol spectrum disorders affect our community through a series of informative videos beginning Wednesday, sponsored by Juneau's Fetal Alcohol Community Advisory Group.
The videos will be shown from noon to 1 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday of the month inside the Mendenhall Mall, next to the leasing office. "Worth the Trip" leads the series. "Raising Children with FASD" plays the following Wednesday. Please call 209-4988 for more information.
Parent group asks for garage sale donations
The Glacier Valley Parent Group will be holding a garage sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 2. Items can be donated before evening of Friday, April 1, at the Glacier Valley Elementary School. Funds raised at the garage sale will go toward the school.
Recycle magazines, catalogs on March 26
Friends of Recycling will hold a magazine- and catalog-recycling event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 26, at the Alaska Department of Transportation's parking lot. Bring all magazines and catalogs at this time. Volunteers are needed. Call 780-4212 to volunteer or for more information.
Break dance class offered next week
Spring Break Dance Adventure will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Elks Hall on Franklin Street.
