A serious threat

Those of us who are concerned about the possibility of moving the Legislature and/or the Capital should not be lulled into a false sense of security because there was a sparse turnout for the hearing on the legislative move bill in Anchorage on Saturday.

When there was a hearing on the same piece of legislation here in Juneau only the chairman of the Alaska Committee and the Mayor were there to testify. I did not hear anyone suggest that this lack of attendance by Juneau residents indicated this is not a "burning issue" and there is no concern. These issues are a serious threat to the future of this community and our leaders need to be taking positive steps to ensure they do not become reality.
