Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested 22-year-old Latina Helfinstine on a charge of drunken driving at 11:50 p.m. Friday at Seventh and Gold streets downtown. They lodged her at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle she was driving.

• Police arrested 30-year-old Cortney Kanan on a charge of drunken driving at 1:46 a.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Glacier Highway. They lodged her at the state prison and impounded the vehicle she was driving.

Burglary:

• A burglary was reported at 3:54 p.m. Thursday to an unlocked home in the 8400 block of Valley Boulevard. About $950 and an electronic game system were reported stolen.

Assault:

• A 46-year-old man was arrested on an assault charge at 4:43 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Franklin Street downtown. Police lodged him at the state prison.

Trespassing:

• Police cited a 66-year-old man on a trespassing charge at 3:02 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Seventh Street downtown.

Vandalism:

• At 3:09 a.m. Saturday an object was reported thrown at a 2003 Dodge, causing $1,500 damage to the vehicle near Gold Creek downtown.

Theft:

• A digital camera was reported stolen at 2:34 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Third Street in Douglas.

• Two diamond rings in gold settings were reported stolen at 7:34 a.m. Friday in the 4200 block of Brothers Avenue in the Mendenhall Valley.

• A .45-caliber handgun was reported stolen at 2:03 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Malissa Drive in the valley.

• About 300 gallons of heating oil, valued at $750, was reported stolen at 4:08 p.m. Friday in the 3600 block of Tongass Boulevard in the valley.

• A red bag containing a small portable sewing machine and a plastic bag containing clothing was reported stolen at 10:53 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Franklin Street.

Vehicle accident:

• Police cited a 30-year-old man on a charge of driving without a license after an accident at 7:48 a.m. Friday on Glacier Avenue and Highland Drive downtown. The man was driving a 1991 Toyota 4Runner involved in an accident with 1988 Chevrolet truck driven by a 21-year-old man. No one was reported injured. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the Chevrolet and $3,500 to the Toyota, which was impounded.

• A man driving a gold 2000 GMC reported at 5:18 p.m. Friday that his vehicle struck a blue 1992 GMC in the 4400 block of Columbia Boulevard in the valley.

Hit and run:

• At 11:49 a.m. Friday, a 2006 Honda was reported struck by an unknown vehicle in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive.

• At 5:08 p.m. Friday, a 2000 Toyota was reported struck by an unknown vehicle somewhere in the Juneau area.

• At 1:21 a.m. Friday, a 2002 Dodge was reported struck by an unknown vehicle in the 2200 block of Trout Street near the airport.

Traffic stop:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 5:45 p.m. Thursday on inbound Egan Drive near Norway Point after citing the driver, a 20-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.

• Police impounded a vehicle at 2:29 a.m. Saturday on Glacier Highway near Brotherhood Bridge in the valley after citing the driver, a 22-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.

Underage drinking:

• An 18-year-old man was cited at 11:31 p.m. Friday on an underage drinking charge in the 300 block of First Street downtown.
