I just got home from seeing the performance by Glacier Valley Elementary School of "The Tides and The Tempest" on March 14 at the Kennedy Center here in Washington, D.C. As a 30-year former resident of Juneau, living in the D.C. area for the last four years, it was a special treat for me.
As I hope many of you know, this is an amazing production, with outstanding costumes and choreography, weaving twin stories from Shakespeare and Tlingit myth together in a lively production that kept the Millennium Stage audience at rapt attention for a full hour.
Juneau should be very, very proud of these young people and all those who helped put on the show. I can't imagine how much work this was. Bravo!
