A My Turn column Monday, "Repetition that Deepens Learning," incorrectly cited a 1992 Scientific American. The correct information follows:

"A survey of 12,000 high school students in 1988 found that half of those who had never taken a course in biology did as well in tests as 40 percent of those who had; apparently, biology courses taught most of those taking them almost nothing."
