ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage Superior Court judge has received a public reprimand for drunken driving.

Judge Patrick McKay stood before the justices of the Alaska Supreme Court on Thursday to be reprimanded.

The Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct last week ordered that McKay be publicly reprimanded, continue alcohol abuse treatment and provide the commission and the courts with treatment completion records.

McKay last October was ordered to spend five days in a correctional facility after pleading no contest to operating a vehicle under the influence. It was McKay's second offense. Twenty-two years ago he was convicted of drunken driving and spent three days in jail.

McKay apologized Thursday to his family and judicial colleagues.
