Timely notice

As

a local grocery clerk, periodically I sell alcoholic beverages. On March 12, I was informed by my boss that apparently I was among those who sold alcohol to a youngster just over 21 years old, without asking for I.D. This occurred in the third week of December. I try to be extremely careful selling alcohol and tobacco, as I would be terminated and prosecuted if I sell to a minor. Although the evidence is under-whelming, I regret to concede that I may have been careless. I support any group's efforts toward responsible alcohol management. I was told by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) that it didn't matter when I was notified, only that I screwed up. I agree, but if a cashier is not cautious or even incompetent, I feel it is critical to address the problem as soon as possible. MADD's I.D. checks would be far more pro-active and effective if it didn't take three months for notification.
