JUNEAU - Preliminary autopsy results on Melinda Chamberlin show no evidence of foul play, according to Juneau police.

Chamberlin, 41, died sometime in the early morning of March 8 before arriving at Bartlett Regional Hospital after a traffic accident. The driver, Remond Henderson, told police he was taking Chamberlin to the hospital and she was unconscious before the accident.

Police said alcohol was involved. Citing an ongoing investigation, police released no further details.

The release of Chamberlin's official cause of death is weeks away as the state Medical Examiner's Office waits for toxicology results from blood and fluid samples to return from a Minnesota lab.
