ANCHORAGE - Police issued a warning that counterfeit bills are showing up in the Anchorage area.
The Anchorage Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit described an influx of counterfeit $10s, $20s and $100s. The money has been passed at gas stations, convenience stores and fast food establishments.
Clerks should examine bills closely, police said. The counterfeit money is of such poor quality it can easily be seen as a fake if examined.
