Juneau's Sarah Christianson to play Division I volleyball at Lehigh

JUNEAU - Juneau-Douglas High School senior Sarah Christianson recently agreed to play NCAA Division I volleyball for Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn.

Christianson helped lead the Crimson Bears to a fourth-place finish in the state tournament her senior year. She also played for JDHS as the Bears finished fifth in the state in 2005 and 2004.

She led the team in kills last season.

Lehigh competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Patriot League.

After finishing 0-29 last season with a squad of mostly freshmen and sophomores, the Mountain Hawks hired Jenny Maurer as their new coach on Jan. 29.

Maurer comes to Lehigh after a successful seven-year stint with St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis. As a player, Maurer was a two-time first-team NCAA Division III All-American at Washington University in St. Louis.
