Keith M. Bell, of Juneau, was listed on the Idaho State University 2008 fall semester dean's list for the College of Arts and Sciences.
To qualify for the dean's list, students must complete at least 12 semester credits and receive a grade-point average of 3.66 or higher.
Nick Rodriguez, 2008 gratuate of Juneau-Douglas High School, and Forks, Wash., resident graduated from the Marine Recruit Depot in San Diego with a marksmanship medal on March 13 with nine proud family members in attendance. He is the son of Christina Miller, of Juneau, and grandson of Maria Gascon and Ted and Prue Miller, of Forks.
Eddie Mertz is serving as a Senate page for the 26th Alaska Legislature's first Senate session. Mertz was born and raised in Juneau. After graduating from Juneau-Douglas High School in 2004, he spent the summer interning for Senator Murkowski before attending Willamette University in Salem, Ore., where he studied mathematics and computer science. He graduated in December 2008.
Kristian Ritter, son of Rick and Kris Ritter, of Juneau, graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast in December 2008 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts general studies degree. Prior to his college education, he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of sergeant. He was deployed twice to the Middle East during his Marine Corps service - to Kuwait in 2003 and Iraq in 2004. He is currently working as a juvenile justice officer at the Johnson Youth Center and pursuing a Master of Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University. He volunteers time to the Juneau-Douglas High School stunt team as a strength-training coach.
