ANCHORAGE - The state's abortion site is on the Internet and open for public comment.
The Web site is a result of a law passed by the Legislature last year requiring that doctors inform women seeking abortions about the risks of and alternatives to terminating pregnancies.
The state put a draft version on the Web to find out what people think of it. Doctors who approved the content for the site will consider public comments through April 25.
Anna Franks of Planned Parenthood of Alaska said she's only been able to give a cursory look to the Web site but that the information looks pretty good.
Karen Vosburgh of Alaska Right to Life called portions of the site inaccurate and incomplete.
The site's address is www.hss.state.ak.us/dph/wcfh/informedconsent/.
