Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested 18-year-old Jesse Nelson on a charge of drunken driving at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday in the 5100 block of Douglas Highway. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.


• A burglary was reported at 5:17 a.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Kiowa Drive in the Mendenhall Valley. An investigation is ongoing.


• Nearly $3,000 worth of belongings were reported stolen from a locked shed at 12:16 p.m. Wednesday in the 7600 block of North Douglas Highway. Items taken include two sets of tires, four Dungeness crab pots, shrimp pots, four salmon rods, four halibut rods, fishing gear, an electric saw and a ladder.

Hit and run:

• An 87-year-old woman was issued a verbal warning at 1 p.m. Wednesday after her 2000 Toyota struck a parked 2005 Dodge in the 9200 block of Glacier Highway.

Vehicle accidents:

• It was reported at 9:29 p.m. Wednesday that a 54-year-old man lost control of his 1995 Chevrolet on Douglas Highway and rolled the vehicle.

• It was reported at 7:56 a.m. Thursday that a 2005 Toyota driven by a 24-year-old woman sustained $2,500 damage when it hit a parked 2006 Jeep Liberty and a 2006 Wrangler in the 4700 block of North Douglas Highway. The Liberty sustained $5,000 damage and the Wrangler sustained $2,500.

• It was reported at 8:18 a.m. Thursday that a 2003 Toyota driven by a 24-year-old woman struck a parked 1999 Ford in the 4700 block of North Douglas Highway.
