Former Alaska state Sen. Wray E. "Brad" Bradley died March 20 at an assisted living home in Sand Springs, Okla. He was 86.
The Anchorage Daily News reports Bradley moved to Alaska in 1964 when he was stationed at Fort Greeley.
After retiring from the Army, he served in the state Senate from 1975 to 1982 and as an Anchorage assemblyman from 1985 to 1988.
Bradley sponsored state legislation that increased the property tax exemption for disabled veterans and gave free hunting and fishing licenses for certain disabled veterans and all state residents over 60. And Bradley sponsored municipal legislation for construction of the Anchorage Veterans Memorial and establishment of the Veterans Affairs Commission.
