Sitka student named to suicide prevention panel

JUNEAU — A junior at Mt. Edgecumbe High School in Sitka has been named to an Alaska panel aimed at preventing suicide.

Teressa “Tessa” Baldwin was named to the Statewide Suicide Prevention Council.

She is among board appointments announced by Gov. Sean Parnell on Wednesday.

KINY reports that Baldwin serves as student body secretary at the school and holds a 3.75 grade point average.

Baldwin is originally from Kotzebue.
