Managing wildlife rally to be held, book signings tonight

JUNEAU - The Alaska Wildlife Alliance will hold two days of events beginning tonight at 7 p.m. at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council. There will also be a rally Saturday, March 27, at noon in front of the Capitol downtown.

The event tonight is titled: "Managing Wildlife in Alaska: Predators, Prey and Politics."

Presentations prior to tonight's event will feature book signings from Nick Jans, Vic Van Ballenberghe, Mary Willson and Bob Armstrong. Armstrong will feature the release of his newest book, "Photographing Nature in Alaska." There will also be a wildlife slide show by Jos Bakker.

Saturday's event will feature speakers such as Joel Bennett, Greg Brown, Andrea Doll, Senator Hollis French, Rep. Beth Kerttula, Alex Simon, John Toppenberg and Vic VanBallenberghe.

There will be free hot dogs for the first 100 people in attendance and door prizes.

Organizers are encouraging participants to dress up and brings signs.
