Musician Buddy Tabor will play with a handful of locals beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday night at the Canvas.
Tabor hitchhiked to Alaska in 1967 and is a mainstay of the Juneau folk music scene. He began playing guitar at age 17, after he heard Bob Dylan. His musical and poetical influences also include Hank Williams, John Prine, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Hazel Dickens and Townes Van Zandt.
Tabor will be joined Saturday by Betsy Sims (vocals, percussion), Jason Caputo (guitars), Libby Sterling (fiddle) and Albert McDonnell (bass). Brooke Morgan will be the opening act.
