BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A Port of Bellingham employee accused of taking $4,300 in Alaska state ferry fares pleaded not guilty to theft charges in Whatcom County Superior Court.
The 35-year-old Blaine woman, Jennifer Lynn Peterson, is on unpaid leave from her job as a ticket agent until the case is resolved.
The Bellingham Herald reports her trial is set for June 8.
An audit found some cash handled by Peterson could not be accounted for in the Alaska Marine Highway System bank account.
