Keep airline ticketing in a Valley location

Posted: Friday, March 28, 2003

Alaska Airlines plans to close its valley ticket office on May 1 as a cost saving plan. That will leave only the downtown office or the airport for ticketing. Downtown parking is difficult, if not impossible to find, and it costs to park at the airport. In addition, there are often lines of travelers at the airport. Because the Valley ticket office handles 75 percent of the bookings for the Juneau area, it seems more prudent to either close the downtown office or move the valley office to a less expensive Valley location.
