I think it is fitting that Mr. Lie-Nielsen would compare the current conflict to World War II. The United States of America was not attacked by Germany to precipitate our involvement in World War II. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and we retaliated. Before this attack, the United States was not going to join the war against an inhuman, immoral, monster that was killing and torturing people and invading neighboring countries.
On Sept. 11, we were attacked, without provocation, by a group of terrorists and we retaliated. Now it is time to declare war against an inhuman, immoral, monster that is killing and torturing and invading neighboring counties. One can only imagine the loss of innocent life if the United States had declared war only on Japan and left Adolf Hitler to continue his domination of Germany.
Some Americans seem to have forgotten how eager they were to "take care of business" after Sept. 11. Well it's time to take care of business before we are attacked again.
