JUNEAU - Juneau-Douglas High School senior Talisa Rhea was named the Gatorade Alaska Girls Player of the Year on March 22.

The guard averaged 22 points her senior year and scored more than 1,500 points and distributed more than 450 assists in her career.
She helped led the Crimson Bears to a state title her sophomore year and the state championship game this past weekend.
"She can do absolutely anything with the ball," East Anchorage and Rhea's travel team coach, Dorena Bingham, said in a press release. "She sees things before they happen. I can't explain it to you. If she's on your team, she will get you the ball."
Rhea will also graduate as a four-year letter-winner in soccer. She will play for Oregon State next season on a basketball scholarship.
She has also maintained a 3.86 GPA and serves as a volunteer youth coach.
Rhea also is in the running for the national player of the year award, which will be awarded later this week.
