JUNEAU - The Juneau Fine Arts Camp, sponsored by Juneau Dance Unlimited, will be held 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 7 to 25 at Harborview Elementary School, with an optional fourth week at The Canvas, held June 28 to July 2.
This summer program is for kids entering kindergarten through seventh grade and will feature classes in puppetry, theater, comic creation, hip-hop dance, print-making, archery, sculpture, drawing, mask-making, beading, mime, basket-weaving, music, film-making, origami, jump-roping, arts and craft, scrapbooking, social dance and more.
In addition, the Boston-based Weber Dance Company will provide a three-week dance intensive at the JDU Dance Studio after the regular Fine Arts Camp hours. The 2010 Juneau Fine Arts Camp brochure and registration form is available at www.juneaudance.com. JDU will begin taking registrations on April 1. Class sizes are limited, so register early. Scholarships are available.
The Juneau Fine Arts Camp is partially funded by the citizens of the city of Juneau through sales tax revenues, the Alaska State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Douglas-Dornan Foundation.
