Ginter's goal lifts Island Pub

Jason Ginter scored off Tim Bristol's assist with 5:40 left in regulation to give the Island Pub a 3-2 win over the division-leading Kensington Goldminers on Monday in the Juneau Adult Hockey Association Tier B.

Sound off on the important issues at

Ben VanAlen and Brant Oliphant added a goal and assist each in victory. Mario Perez made 18 saves for Island Pub.

Dennis Weston and Arnold Liebelt provided the Goldminers' goals while Weston, Liebelt and Tod Young had one assist each.

Gerry Nankervis turned back 13 of 16 shots for Kensington.

TIER A

Play It Again Sports 3, Island Pub 1

John Bohan, Kyle Hebert and Mike Dzuiba all scored as Play It Again Sports turned back Island Pub.

Hebert also had an assist while Clayton Jernigan made 32 saves in the win.

Aaron Jacobs scored for the Island Pub off assists from Blake Galvin and Dan Teske.

Chip Verrelli made 18 saves for the Island Pub.

WOMEN'S A

Jaded 3, Island Pub 1

Dawn Momblow scored and had two assists while Val Martinez found the net twice in Jaded's victory over the Island Pub.

Dawn Voss turned back 17 shots in the win.

Christy Baseden scored the Island Pub's lone goal off an assist from Stephanie Yates.

Jess Parks made 24 saves in defeat.

Winter Kings 7, Ice Dogs 3

The Winter Kings climbed within a point of the division lead following Sunday's win over the Ice Dogs.

Brian Van Kirk led the Kings with two goals and two assists, Steve Box had a goal and three assists and Robert Jones netted one goal and one assist in the win. Also for the Winter Kings, Joran Freeman and Randy Host scored while Chris Pyle and Chris Chiles had assists.

For the Ice Dogs, Ryan Harvey scored twice, Jim Ord contributed a goal while Peter Ord had two assists. Lorna Wilson and Don Fabrello had one assist each in defeat.

WOMEN'S B

Alaskan Dames 4, Gold 1

Alaskan Dames scored four straight goals to down the Gold.

Gina White had two goals, Lisa Ibias and LeAnne Rees scored while Wendy Hickok had two assists. Annie Smith and Nancy Davis also added assists.

Lisa Ouellette stopped all but one of the 33 shots she faced.

Liz Johnston made 11 saves for the Gold while Molly Yerkes scored the team's only goal.

TIER C

Yellow 4, Blew Chunks 2

Gregg Beck and Shawn Haase scored two goals each for the Yellow in Sunday's win over Blew Chunks.

Dave Blaisdell had two assists while Todd Wimmer, Suzanne Herbert and Micah Sommers contributed one assist each for the Yellow.

Rick Pannell made 17 saves to preserve the victory.

Chad Hood scored both of Blew Chunks' goals while Jon Warrenchuk and Kalei Shotwell had one assist each.

Jeff Goetz stopped 26 shots in the loss.

TIER D

Flying Prunes 6, Air Excursions 1

Eugene Pawlik, Greg Smith and Steve O'Brien scored two goals each to lead the Flying Prunes past Air Excursions.

Molly Yerkes had an assist for the Prunes while Liam Carnahan stopped 12 of 13 shots.

Dawn Momblow scored Air Excursions' lone goal off an assist from John Kern.

Jason Bluhm made 17 saves in defeat.
