JUNEAU - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game reminds hunters who want to participate in "archery only" hunts that they must first successfully complete a department-approved bowhunter education course (International Bowhunter Education Program or equivalent).
An IBEP certified course will take place 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19 at the Juneau Hunter Education Facility, 5670 Montana Creek Road. Participants are required to bring their own bow and arrows, with target or field points, for the shooting portion of the course. The course will include classroom training, a written test and a marksmanship and field course.
All persons interested in this course are required to pick up a packet of study materials at the education facility or Fish and Game Douglas office room 201. The study modules must be completed prior to the start of the course and brought to the class. The study modules must be completed prior to the start of the course and brought to the class.
