Man charged in fatal North Pole stabbing

ANCHORAGE - Alaska State Troopers arrested a Chitina man sought in a stabbing death a week ago.

Thomas Hale, 42, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of James Steward, 49, of North Pole.

Hale and others "visited" Hale in North Pole on March 22 and got into a fight with him, troopers said.

Hale is being held at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

His bail was set at $250,000.
