FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks man has been accused of raping a passed-out intoxicated woman on a downtown street.
A criminal complaint said witnesses yelled at the man at about 3 a.m. Sunday and he ran away. Police arrested the 46-year-old, Brian Sal Kotongan, on a sexual assault charge that could bring 10 years in prison if he is convicted.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported the victimwas treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
An Alaska Department of Correction Web site showed Kotongan remains in custody Monday at the Fairbanks Correctional Center. The jail said he could not be called directly from the outside. A message left with the public defender's office in Fairbanks was not immediately returned.
