Pelican salmon derby
The Pelican Visitors Association (PVA) is requesting public support in its first ever King Salmon Derby to be held May 28-June 6. The PVA is guaranteeing a cash prize of at least $2,500, and its members are donating merchandise for the prize list.
The purpose of the PVA derby is to help generate some activity in the Pelican economy. The derby will help sell services at their local store, fuel dock, restaurant, rooms for rent, meals and drinks at the bar and grills, charter boat services, etc.
PVA is now asking for help from those businesses outside of its community that might benefit from the derby and from their local sport fishing and outdoor tourism industry. You can help by either donating cash for the top prizes, a gift certificate or merchandise.
For more information, contact PVA President Norm Carson at (907) 735-2460 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
