JUNEAU - Gov. Sean Parnell has appointed Ken J. Peltier and Pearl A. Strub to the Alaska Workforce Investment Board. The board develops and manages a comprehensive state human resource investment system, and promotes an efficient integrated system of employment education and training programs to help provide Alaskans the skills necessary to thrive in the state's evolving economy.
Strub, of Dillingham, is director of education, employment and training for the Bristol Bay Economic Development Corp., and previously worked as its education project director. She was appointed to a seat for a representative of business and industry.
Peltier, of Palmer, has been administrator of the Alaska Operating Engineers/Employers Training Trust since 2007. He was appointed to a seat on the workforce development board for a representative of postsecondary vocational education.
