Juneau resident Elaine Esther Knudson died March 27, 2007. She was 51.

She was born July 1, 1955, in Juneau. She grew up in Juneau and also lived in Hoonah and Seattle.
She was the child of the Chookandeidee Clan and a granddaughter of the L'uknaxadi.
She attended Hoonah public school, Juneau-Douglas High School and Anchorage High School. She worked in Juneau as a postal clerk and as line crew in Hoonah Cold Storage.
On Nov. 11, 2006, her family says, that in the eyes of the lord, she married her soul-mate and caregiver William Horton Jr.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Horton Jr., of Hoonah, her grandparents, Samuel Knudson Sr., George and Eva Davis, and Harry and Amy Marvin, of Hoonah; parents, Samuel Knudson Jr. and Hazel (Knudson) Willard; sisters, Laverne Escalante, of Seattle, Eva Villa, of Seattle, Lydia Mamahit, of Juneau; brother, Harold Knudson; son, Johnny Mazon, and niece, Carmeena Mamahit.
She is survived by her adopted mother, Hazel Hope of Juneau; stepfather and spouse, Kenneth Willard Sr. and Donna, of Hoonah; daughters and spouses, Julie Mazon of Seattle, Frances and George Goenett of Seattle, Hazel Mazon of Juneau, Lydia Mazon of Juneau; sisters and spouses, Celeste Garcia of Juneau, Joanne and Knute Felipe of Juneau, Renee and Quinn McLean of Juneau; brothers, Wilbur Knudson of Juneau, Paul Joseph of Seattle; uncles and spouses, Ralph Knudson Sr. and Harriet of Hoonah, Mike Knudson Sr. and Jenive of Hoonah, Elton Willard of Juneau, Kenneth Willard Jr. of Ariz.; aunt and spouse, Mary and Paul Rudolph, of Anchorage; and numerous other relatives.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. at Northern Lights Church, 400 W. 11th Street in Juneau. Active pallbearers are Wilbur "Jumbo" James, Thomas James, Nathan See, Knute Felipe and Darren Wigg. Honorary pallbearers are Ellis Escalante, Sam Villa, Thomas Cornell and Wilbur Knudson.
