Juneau resident Forrest E. Shepard, 38, died March 20, 2003, at his home in Juneau.
He was born Nov. 16, 1964, in Burns, Ore., to Bruce and Wanda Shepard. He grew up in New Meadows, Idaho, finishing his schooling in Oregon. In the early 1990s, he moved his family to Hoonah, where he worked in the logging industry.
His family said he loved working and playing in the outdoors of Southeast Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his son, Keith Shepard.
He is survived by his father, of Juneau, sisters Carol (Kenny) Whitney of New Meadows, Idaho, and Windy Scheib of Portland, Tenn., sons Levi and Joseph Shepard, and daughter Crystal Shepard, all of Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 9 at Alaska Memorial Park Chapel.
