Parks and Rec to accept reservations
On Monday, April 5, Parks and Recreation will begin accepting reservations for sports fields at Dimond and Savikko parks.
Reservations can be made to use the fields beginning Friday, April 9, through the end of summer. The cost is $16 per hour plus tax, and the price goes down with increased hours of use. Reservations must be made in person at the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall. Payment must be made at the time of reservation.

Bookstore holds an 'Amazing' sale
The Amazing Bookstore in the Airport Shopping Center is having an inventory reduction sale lasting until April 10. All books regularly priced at 25 cents are on sale at 10 for $1. Come early for the best selection.
JDHS to host annual dance clinic
The Juneau-Douglas High School Dance Team will host its annual dance clinic Saturday, April 3, at JDHS.
The cost is $30. Registration is available at JDHS only on the day of the clinic. Girls in kindergarten through second grade register at 7:45 a.m. The clinic ends with a parent show from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Girls in third grade through high school, and boys in fifth grade through high school, register at 11:45 a.m. The clinic ends with a parent show from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
Participants will learn a fun hip-hop routine and will receive a clinic T-shirt and a certificate. A light snack is also included.

Deadline is April 7 for poster contest
The annual Litter Free Cleanup is right around the corner, and that means the annual poster contest is going on right now.
The winning artwork will be used on posters and T-shirts for the Litter Free Cleanup. Submissions need to be turned in by 9 p.m. April 7 at the Art Department in the Nugget Mall.
The winner will receive a $150 gift certificate from the Art Department. There are prizes for grade-school contest winners as well.
Pick up your application at the Art Department. The cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 8.

Charter school accepting applications
The Juneau Community Charter School is accepting student applications for kindergarten through sixth grade for the 2004-2005 school year.
Applications are available at the school, located downtown at Fourth and Harris streets. It is a public school and charges no tuition.
