Former Juneau resident Barbara Sue Isbell died March 5, 2007, in her sleep at her new home in Lakewood (Tacoma), Wash. She was 67.

Her family says she is no longer burdened anymore by her 67 years of human frailty and is at peace, though she will be missed by family and friends.
She was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Santa Paula, Calif., to John Henry and Estele (nee West) Isbell.
She was the eldest sister of, Mary Lou (Edward) St. George, of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Beverly Adams. Her family said her sisters lovingly cared for her and shared with her the last years in Juneau and Lakewood.
She was mother to Robin (Roger) Rettig of Lakewood, Wash., and David (Katey) Reynolds of Newberry Park, Calif.; and grandmother to Tony, Allen, Anastasia, Nathaniel, Christopher and Matthew.
A simple cremation and private remembrance are being planned.
