Eugene H. Black
Former Juneau resident Eugene H. Black died March 21, 2000, in Florida from colon cancer.
He was born June 11, 1935, in New Jersey. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served at sea aboard several ships. After retiring from the Navy, Black relocated to Juneau where he was director of operations for the Alaska Marine Highway System from 1983-1986.
He is survived by his wife Carol-Ann of Florida; sons Eugene Black III of Rhode Island, Andrew Black and Matthew Black of Florida; daughters Carol-Ann Parker of Maryland and Julianne Sullivan of Pennsylvania; and eight grandchildren.
The memorial service was held March 24, 2000, in Jacksonville, Fla.
