Longtime Juneau resident Barbara A. Bogert-Taylor died April 1, 2008, in Juneau. She was 74.
Born Feb. 21, 1934, in Lebanon, Mo., she moved to Alaska from Florida in 1970. She worked several years for the Juneau-Douglas Telephone Co., the Teamsters Union and eventually retired from the state of Alaska in 1992.
According to her family, she had many loves in her life, but she was especially devoted to her faith. She spent several years away from her faith but eventually found her ultimate strength, peace and comfort within it, they said.
Her family and friends said they will remember her as a loving, caring person who always had a quick wit, funny joke and loving words of kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley "Sid" Taylor Jr.; and grandson, Terry M. Bogert.
She is survived by her sons, Steven Bogert and his wife, Lisa, and their son, Michael, of Juneau, and David Bogert and his wife, Marguerite, and their sons, DJ, Tyler and Chance, of Big Lake; and daughter, Peggy Wilcox, of Utah, and her husband, Kerry, and their daughter, Sara, and sons, Brandon and Bryan, of Oregon.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, April 4, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the narthex of the church.
