Kodiak woman indicted on theft charges

ANCHORAGE - A 43-year-old Kodiak woman was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges she stole money from the government.

Deanna Casabay is alleged to have stolen more than $12,000 from the Child Development Center at the Coast Guard Integrated Support Command in Kodiak.

The U.S. Attorney's office said the theft occurred while she was employed as an administrative assistant.

If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
