Service: 1½ years.

Why did you join the fire service?: "I wanted to do something as a volunteer and the fire department was a good fit."

Favorite aspect of fire service: "The community of the people involved, the training and education, the personal growth and the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone."

Reason nominated: "Meg is at the Douglas station to help with rig checks almost every B shift (every third day). She has also been helping with the FF1 study sessions at Douglas station. She has completed both Firefighter 2 and EMT 1. She has been staying very involved and very active with the department."
