ANCHORAGE - Anchorage voters go to the polls Tuesday to choose assembly and school board members and to decide on city bond projects.
The ballot contains six bond issues, including two for the fire department.
One would buy an ambulance for the Sand Lake area. Fire Chief Mark Hall says there are times when the department runs short of ambulances. Hall is also asking voters to approve money for two new fire engines.
Another bond would give Anchorage bus stops a facelift. Bond money would pay for swipe card kiosks, LED lights and new buses and would provide a match for federal transportation money.
Other bonds on the ballot would provide money for roadways and drainage systems.
