Driving while intoxicated:
Police arrested Gerald Harrison Snow, 41, for drunken driving shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday at a Mendenhall Valley hotel after the hotel's courtesy van driver reported being followed. Snow was also charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.10 percent. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts, lost/found items:
An intoxicated man, 43, was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday near Douglas Highway for domestic violence criminal mischief after witnesses reported his breaking into an apartment. He was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for hand injuries, then lodged at state prison.
A man, 28, reported about 10:30 p.m. Thursday that he had been assaulted by his girlfriend in the Mendenhall Valley. A woman, 32, was arrested for domestic violence assault. She was lodged at state prison.
Shortly after noon Thursday, police responded to a report of a child being hit by a vehicle on W. 12th Street. The girl, 10, said she was not injured, but was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation. There were no signs of trauma, a Bartlett spokesman said today. The blue Dodge pickup that struck her was operated by a man, 70. Police determined the child did not look before running into the street; there were no citations.
About 12:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a three-vehicle accident on Glacier Highway near Trout Street. The vehicles involved were a red and silver Ford pickup operated by a woman, 77; a dark blue Ford pickup operated by a man, 72; and a red Ford pickup operated by a man, 62. The woman driver was cited for failure to maintain a safe distance.
A brown Honda Accord operated by a woman, 48, ran a red light at Egan Drive's McNugget intersection shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. The Honda struck a green Ford pickup operated by a man, 34. A 56-year-old male passenger in the Honda was injured. He suffered a grazed forehead, whiplash and a bruise. He was discharged home in good condition from Bartlett's emergency room. Investigation is continuing, police said.
Shortly after 1 a.m. today, police responded to an accident on Douglas Highway. A blue Subaru operated by a man, 23, struck a yellow Ford LTD operated by a man, 39. A woman, 57, a passenger in the Ford was transported to Bartlett by ambulance. After an hour's treatment in the emergency room for multiple soft-tissue injuries, the woman was discharged in good condition. Charges are pending.
An intoxicated man, 37, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday at the Glory Hole for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after he refused to leave when asked. He was lodged at state prison.
Firefighters had a busy day Thursday with 17 calls - most of them ambulance calls. The only fire alarm came in about 4 p.m. from Pacific Rim Rovers on Airport Boulevard. This alarm was caused by smoke from a malfunctioning furnace. Pacific Rim Rovers said there was no damage.
Police arrested a man, 27, shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday on Glacier Highway for driving without a valid license and for failure to stop for a school bus displaying flashing red lights. He was released at the scene. His blue Chevrolet pickup was impounded.
