On Saturday, April 3, around 9:30 a.m., I went to the Mendenhall Glacier to enjoy a lovely morning. The main parking lot was full with people embarking upon some sort of run, so I went to the next parking lot, also very full.
I pulled up just in time to witness one of the event participants relieving himself at the moraine trailhead. Not out of sight in the woods or - and this is a real concept - at a public restroom, but in full view and on the trailhead.
And we are worried about dogs on the trails?
