The Juneau Ski Club dominated last weekend at the Alaska State Championships for 9- to 12-year-old alpine ski racers at Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood.

The boys' J-4 division for 11- to 12-year-olds finished 1-2 in each of the three disciplines.
Juneau's Matt Vandor won the overall J-4 championship by finishing first in both the slalom and super-G races. He took second in the giant slalom, finishing behind teammate Alex Erickson. Ezekiel "ZJ" Rohloff placed second in the overall competition while Erickson claimed third.
On the girls' side, Juneau Ski Club athlete Nicole Stangeland finished second in the combined competition for J-4 girls while Havaleh Rohloff finished sixth overall for J-5 girls, ages 9-10.
In the boys super-G, Vandor placed first while Erickson took second and Rohloff finished fifth. Peter Peel took ninth while Tatsu Monkman placed 18th.
Vandor also won the slalom event, with Rohloff nipping at his heels in second. Peel finished seventh, Erickson eighth and Monkman 19th in the slalom.
Erickson captured gold in the giant slalom with Rohloff taking second and Vandor finishing third. Also for Juneau, Peel placed eighth while Monkman garnered 17th place honors.
In the J-4 girls super-G, Stangeland finished third while teammate Stephanie Logan took eighth. Rohloff finished seventh in the J-5 super-G and teammate Naomi Moritz took 10th place in the race.
Stangeland took second in the J-4 girls slalom and Logan finished fifth. Rohloff finished sixth in the J-5 slalom and Moritz grabbed 11th place.
In the J-4 girls giant slalom, Stangeland finished third while Logan took eighth. Rohloff finished sixth in the J-5 giant slalom with Moritz taking 11th.
The Juneau Ski Club racing season winds down on Saturday with two races at Eaglecrest Ski Area. The races will be followed by the year-end awards for the Mighty Mites, Developmental racers and Juniors.
