ANCHORAGE - A federal grand jury has indicted an Anchorage man on charges he filed false tax return claims.
The 36-count indictment announced Monday accuses Kong Lor of preparing false tax returns for Hmong immigrants who spoke little or no English. The allegations cover a time period from late 2004 through early 2005.
Lor faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count.
He was released on a $25,000 bond and placed under the supervision of the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office.
